With the rapid advancement of technology, many young people have become vulnerable to online exploitation and abuse that often lead to trauma, depression and anxiety. This advocacy urges every families, schools, communities, and the government to take united action in protecting children’s safety, dignity, and rights both online and offline

The government plays a crucial role in ensuring the protection of children’s rights. Laws such as the Republic Act No. 11930 or the “Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) Law” show that the Philippines is taking serious steps to combat these crimes. Agencies like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) continue to implement programs that educate families, investigate offenders, and provide assistance to victims. However, the enforcement of these laws must remain consistent, and punishments should be firm enough to ensure justice and deter future violations.
